After winning at Navan last month Boher Call followed up in the Follow Limerick On Facebook Handicap Chase, running out a gutsy winner under Luke Dempsey.

Sent off the 2/1 favourite the Paul Flynn trained gelding attempted to make all.

His nearest pursuer, Paddy O Dee crashed out at the fourth and that left him in a clear lead.

His lead was reduced before three out and he was headed at the next by Crown Theatre

That fellow was a few lengths clear after the last but he was reeled in by Boher Call who kept on gamely, getting back up close home to score by a neck.

Crown Theatre (7/2) had to settle for second under Andrew Lynch for Henry De Bromhead while Moonlight Boy (9/2 from 11/2) was just three parts of a length back in third under Jody McGarvey for Christy Roche.

Paul Flynn said afterwards: "Luke said he'd have been an unlucky loser as he said he got wiped out by the loose horse turning-in.

"I thought we were beaten but it was a great thrill to win and he might run again - I'd like to try him on good ground but his owner/breeder Cyril Kieran isn't in favour.

"He's a grand horse now but had been very hard and a bit mad at home."
