Boragh Steps justified her short price with a straight forward win in the median auction maiden at Fairyhouse.

Donnacha O'Brien was soon in front on the 4/5 favourite and she looked in control in the closing stages. Solar Wave gave chase down the straight but could only get within a length of the Joseph O'Brien-trained filly.

The winner had shaped with promise when third to Dawn Delivers in a hot looking Curragh maiden on her debut last week.

“She had a good run the first day and if she reproduced that she was entitled to win and she did thank God,” said Donnacha O'Brien.

“She came out of the Curragh well and it was a perfect race for her. It probably weaker than some maidens but it slotted in lovely.

“She travelled strongly, she'd probably be a bit keen over seven but over six she's fine. When someone came to me she went on again and she quickened up nicely.”
