Favourite backers who endured a bad start with Battle Of Marathon (7th) in the first, had further torment with a Ballydoyle runner when Masai (evens) came home last of the nine in the Follow Tipperary On Facebook Handicap. My Good Brother was good from the front here under Colin Keane. Keane asked for more from Tom McCourt's charge a furlong and a half out and he kept on well in the final furlong to defeat Dashwood by a length.

McCourt disclosed: "I fancied him and I didn't think he was a 16/1 shot. Five is his trip and the ground went a bit slow for him at Navan the last day and it generally takes a few runs to get him right.

"We'll be looking at the good sprint handicaps now - he wouldn't mind a bit of an ease.

"He likes a fast five and he won twice at Galway over six but that was off a much lower rating."

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Masai, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
