The Tom McCourt-trained My Good Brother proved popular in the opener at Dundalk and got punters off to a good start with a narrow success from stable-mate Kiss The Stars

Colin Keane 's mount was backed from 11/2 this morning into as short as 3/1 and eventually went to post the 4/1 favourite.

He tracked the leaders on the outer in the five furlong contest before hitting the front with two furlongs to race.

Kiss The Stars ran on well in the closing stages to press her stable-mate and My Good Brother had just a head to spare at the line.

The winner had a career high rating of 104 and was running off a mark of 61 today.

"That was a long time coming and the two of them may go to Laytown,” said McCourt.

“He does plenty of work on the beach and loves it. There are two (suitable) races there, and hopefully he will get into the higher rated one.

"I thought a strong run five furlongs would suit her (Kiss The Stars) as she loves coming off a strong pace. She missed the break a bit after they were delayed in the stalls."
