Bumper entries for return of British racing at Newcastle

The All Weather track at Newcastle is set to host the first meeting in Britain since March 17 when racing resumes behind closed doors next Monday.

The eight-race card which will be limited to 12 runners per race has attracted a total of 369 entries.

The biggest number of entries have been for the two non-handicaps on the card, A 1m2f Maiden for three-year-olds and up has 68 entries while a three-year-old and up Novice stakes has 64 entries.

1.00pm 1m Class 6 Handicap (57 entered)

1.30pm 1m Class 4 Handicap (39 entered)

2.00pm 6f Class 5 3-y-o Novice Stakes (64 entered)

2.30pm 6f Class 4 Handicap (39 entered)

3.00pm 6f Class 5 Handicap (41 entered)

3.30pm 5f Class 5 Handicap (32 entered)

4.00pm 1m4f Class 3 Handicap (29 entered)

4.30pm 1m2f Class 5 3-y-o Maiden (68 entered)

Final declarations for the meeting will be made on Friday as the BHA has instructed that all UK races will have 72 hour declarations for the initial period of behind closed doors racing.
