Trainer Jimmy Mangan reports Castlebrook on course for a Christmas return to action as the gelding continues his recovery from injury.

The Ann & Alan Potts Limited-owned seven year old has been absent since chasing home Faugheen and Samcro in the Grade 1 chase at Limerick last Christmas and later injured a hind leg in a routine canter at home, prior to a tilt at the Thyestes Chase in January.

Mangan now reports “I'm hoping to have him out racing before Christmas. He is back in a few months and I'm happy with him. He'll go schooling next week with Philip Enright and hopefully we can make a plan from there.”
