Jockey Robbie McNamara is confident Cheltenham hero Silver Concorde can complete a Festival double in the Champion Bumper at Punchestown next week.

Dermot Weld's six-year-old stormed up the famous Prestbury Park hill to claim the Champion Bumper last month, fending off the challenge of Willie Mullins' heavily-supported favourite Shaneshill.

"The plan is to try and become a dual champion and I don't see any reason why he couldn't go and back it up," McNamara told At The Races.

"He's been freshened up by Mr Weld, he's in great form and his confidence has soared.

"The ground should be ideal for him and before Cheltenham I would have said Punchestown is a track that would suit him a bit more.

"I can't see why any of the horses behind him would be able to turn the form around."

Silver Concorde could once again be opposed by stable companion Vigil who was beaten a little over four lengths at Cheltenham in the hands of Pat Smullen.

McNamara said: "He ran a very good race and the ground might have gone a little bit against him.

"I think he'll be a little more effective on a softer surface."
