No doubt Sunday's host at Ballydarragh, Liam Kenny is delighted with the progress of his former charge, Two Rockers, who remained unbeaten after four outings with a good success for Alan King at Haydock last Saturday.
However, as a handler, Kenny had to make do with a share of second place, through Twin Joy in the Open Lightweight at the Island Foxhounds point-to-point last weekend.
Twin Joy and Nedzer's Return were left in the shade by the Derek O'Connor-ridden, Charlie Latta-trained Most Chaste. A chestnut daughter of Alderbrook, this eight-year-old was bringing up her hat-trick here, when scoring by seven lengths.
We all remember The Blarney Rose heading for the mares hunters chase at Cork last Easter looking a bit of 'a good thing.' That one finished runner-up but there's no doubt Most Chaste will now go in the same direction appearing to be a very strong contender for the 2013 Mallow contest.
Andrew Latta would have ridden the now dual Ballydarragh victor (adding to her maiden success at Ballinaboola) but he unfortunately injured his back in a fall at Punchestown in early February.
Meanwhile Most Chaste is said to like "goodish ground." (EM)
