Court Adjourned opened her account at the 23rd attempt under rules when getting up close home in the Sportsmens Mares Maiden Hurdle at Thurles.

The daughter of Court Cave won her only point-to-point start before switched to the track, and was well-backed here to end a run of placed efforts this term.

The 3/1 (from 4/1) chance looked booked for another share of the minor money as the front-running Baltygirl held a two-length lead at the last.

However she pecked badly on landing nearly dislodging Danny Mullins, and Court Adjourned took full advantage of the opportunity.

Conor Maxwell ’s mount stayed on well to beat Baltygirl by three quarters of a length, while the 8/11 favourite Miss Chevious Girl was far from fluent throughout this 2m7f event and just kept on one paced a neck further back in third.

Winning trainer Dermot McLoughlin said, "That has been a while coming but she is tough and genuine and has been running competitively off her mark in 0-95 handicaps.

"I thought the way the race broke up that it would be run to suit her and the ground is still lively. She has been on the go a while now and we might give her a break but it will depend on the ground.

"She could go back over fences too and has a nice mark. She is a good lump of a strong mare so we might go down that route."
