Craic scores for Cash & Murphy

Twice the Craic bounced back to his best in the final race of the two day Navan meet, the Newgrange Handicap Chase.

The Barry Cash ridden gelding raced in the rear of the field before making steady headway through horses to lead after 3 out and was pushed clear before the last and kept on well up the straight to score by a comfortable 8 lengths.

33/1 shot Chisel Face under Kevin Coleman ran a cracker to finish second with the 4/1fav Hoochie Mama a head back in third with Alan Crowe aboard.

Willie Murphy stated after the race "He is two years trying to win one but he got there in the end. He got a great ride and he is a great honest horse. He keeps galloping and jumping."

"I’d have loved to have a double (his other runner Burnt Oil Babe finished 3rd to The Hard Hat but we will take one. The handicapper gave him a chance and I have to thank him for that. The horse was running out of chances."
