Crescent eclipses his rivals in last

Hans Crescent recorded back to back successes when claiming the concluding handicap chase at Cork this afternoon.

Michael Hourigan has the gelding in fine form and he followed up on his Thurles success earlier this month.

Adrian Heskin sent his mount up to tackle front-runner Rubert at the third last and he edged ahead before the next.

The Dansili gelding, sent off 4/1 joint-favourite, kept on well in the closing stages to record a nine-length success in the two-mile contest.

Rubert kept on to emerge on top of a bunch finish for second place. The other 4/1jf Moville was a spent force before the straight, finishing back in fifth.

It was a first and last race double on the card for Hourigan who said:-

"He might have another run before he goes to Limerick at Christmas. We'll stay going with him while he's going well."

The race was delayed for ten minutes as a result of Parnell Street needing replacement reins.
