Last Time D'albain followed up an open success at Kilfeacle last month by justifying favouritism in the Bambury Bookmakers Hunters Chase at Fairyhouse.

Katie Walsh sent the 11-year-old gelding to the front before four out, at which point the front-running Mossey Joe started to back-peddle after a slight mistake and was pulled up entering the straight.

Liam Cusack 's charge drew clear before throwing a spectacular jump at the last, and the 9/4 favourite kept on well to score by three and a half lengths. Carsonstown Boy runner-up to Tammys Hill in the Foxhunters at Cheltenham last year, stayed on well in the closing stages to finish an encouraging second with a yawning gap of 37 lengths back to Good Egg in third.

Cusack said, "He's now qualified for Cheltenham and Aintree, and we'd be leaning towards Aintree with him."
