Monbeg Rose snapped up by Gigginstown and sent to Willie Mullins after a Tyrellla point win earlier this year, was sent off the red-hot favourite for the p2p.ie Mares Point-to-Point bumper at Tipperary but failed to come up to expectations as Danali readily landed the spoils. Jodies Miss set the pace in this two and a quarter mile event and still held the call as Patrick Mullins drove the evens favourite along to no affect approaching the straight.

The leader was headed by Danali under two furlongs out, and the Tallanstown maiden winner stretched right away inside the final furlong for Ambrose McCurtin.

The daughter of Presenting had nine lengths to spare at the line, with Jodies Miss just holding off Gabrielleamee for the runner-up spot.

Monbeg Rose eventually trailed home a well-beaten ninth.

Winning trainer John Joe Walsh said, "We bought her after she won her point to point, and I think she's a great stayer who wants better ground.

"She'll go out on grass now as she has shown us plenty and will come back hurdling next season. She should stay three miles.

"Her owner Tommy Ward is from Mountmellick."
