Fiddlers Bow got a deserved win to his name, as he took the Download The Award Winning At The Races App Handicap Hurdle under Davy Russell for Jimmy Mangan and owner Brendan Ferris.

Placed on his last six starts, the seven-year-old son of Whitmore's Conn (also the sire of earlier winner Bitview Colin was fitted with a tongue strap for the first time today.

Sent off the 4/1 favourite (from 6's on-course and from 8's last night), he was settled in mid-division on the outer. He took closer order as they approached the straight for the final time, and he was pushed along to lead after three out.

He was ridden after the next, and kept on well on the run-in, going on to score by two and a quarter lengths. Pleased As Punch (12/1) finished second under Eoin O'Connell for Austin Leahy, while Konig Hall (12/1) was a further length and a quarter back in third under Conor Brassil for Anthony McCann. Una's Pleasure completed the placings a head back in fourth under Ambrose McCurtin for John Joe Walsh at 16/1.

Jimmy Mangan said afterwards: "His form would tell you he never runs a bad race but he'll definitely make a better chaser than hurdler.

"Davy said he got there too soon but gave him an outstanding ride. We're learning about the horse all the time and he'll run over fences at Tramore soon."
