Djingle made the most of his opportunity to win a good pot in the Kerry Group Chase at Listowel.

Six horses were due to go to post, however, morning favourite The Storyteller Paloma Blue and Whisperinthebreeze were all ruled out due to the prevailing going.

That left Peregrine Run to go off the 4/7 favourite in his attempt to win his 18th race. He was settled in third but took a fall at the first fence.

Djingle made all under Darragh O'Keeffe and had his sole rival, Ornua hard at work before the second last.

The leader kept up the gallop to win by seven and a half lengths at 'Burlington Bertie 100/30' from the 4/1 runner-up.

Winning trainer John Queally summed it up well as he said: "If you're not in you can't win! He had a bit of form around here last year but the race cut up.

"He was off for six months before his run the last day and we had decided (in February) to pull the plug with him after Warwick. We tried to hold him up at Warwick but it didn't work and left him off after that.

"I might look at a handicap hurdle with him - he is rated 136 and it is an option.

"He has been a great horse to me."
