Capture The Drama became the first jumps winner returned at 100/1 in Ireland in thirteen years when causing a shock to win the Joey Holden & Kilkenny City And County Vintners Maiden Hurdle at Gowran today.

After The Ball's win at Kilbeggan in June 2003 was the most recent 100/1 Irish jumps winner but Capture The Drama's win also came with a Betfair S.P. of 1000 (999/1), with today's winning trainer Aengus King later stating “I didn't expect this!”

The 2014 Kilmallock point-to-point winner had pulled up on three of his last four starts but, following a four month break today, appeared in much better health, making all for a three and a quarter lengths win under capable claimer Andrew Ring.

Co Clare based King later stated “I won a point-to-point with him but he’s had a lot of trouble since and had his palate done twice. That seems to have made the difference this time.

"I thought he would run better today but I didn’t expect this! He’s only rated 69 over fences and will probably go back chasing now.”

Capture The Drama had been a 100/1 shot on no less than four previous outings before today and was following on from Ramone's 100/1 win at The Curragh in May 2015.
