Conflated ran away with Navan's beginners' chase in a race where very few horses threatened. The Big Getaway (8/15 favourite) and Conflated dominated proceedings and were clear tackling the third last.

Conflated led narrowly over it and was going much the better as he took a few lengths out of The Big Getaway at the next.

The 9/2 shot (from as big as 9/1 this morning) was ridden clear by Jack Kennedy before the last and the pair strode right away to come in by 17 lengths. Opposites Attract stayed on in a remote second at 7/2 from The Big Getaway who got tired.

Gordon Elliott, saddling a treble, said: “He’s not a bad horse and ran well in a few graded races last year.

“He has to go left-handed. He ran well behind Asterion Forlonge at Punchestown when you look at how much ground he gave away by jumping left.

“Jack (Kennedy) said he jumped a lot straighter today.”

This gave Kennedy a double on the card as he was also on Elliott's Clondaw Secret The stable's Magic Tricks was ridden to win the opener by Mark Walsh.

Conflated had been placed in a pair of beginners' chases at Punchestown won by Darver Star and Asterion Forlonge respectively.
