English trained horses claimed the final three races on day one of the Champions Weekend at Leopardstown today as Baraweez claimed the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 'Sovereign Path' Handicap for trainer Brian Ellison and jockey Colm O'Donoghue.

Baraweez, who was following up in more illustrious footprints of today's other English winners Bow Creek and The Grey Gatsby had previously been successful at the Galway Festival last month and afterwards Ellison quipped “he likes it here in Ireland!

“I thought from the draw (12) it was a great result and he won a good pot in Galway and again here today and is a good horse for thirty thousand pounds!”
