Sizing Europe has emerged in good shape from his controversial Cheltenham runner-up effort, with his trainer Henry De Bromhead aiming his star gelding at the Punchestown Festival.

De Bromhead said “all we’re focusing on now is getting Sizing Europe to Punchestown. He has come out of Cheltenham well and looked in very good shape this morning.”

Regarding his controversial runner-up effort in the Champion Chase, De Bromhead added "I hope they have learned something from the race. In Ireland if a fence is omitted then a wing is put across it and everyone knows where they stand. I don’t know why they used these arrows.”

“The wing of the hurdle could have been removed too and placed across the fence,” he added. “If three or four horses had been upsides they might not all have been able to get around.”"
