Trainer Stuart Crawford took a nice pot back north as Fine Rightly was ridden out by Andrew Lynch to win the Grade C Foxrock Handicap Chase in Navan.

The nine-runner field was closely bunched on the approach to the home bend. Lynch and Fine Rightly tanked along in fourth coming to the third-last fence as Fever Pitch led.

Lynch was still motionless as Fine Rightly jumped into contention at the penultimate obstacle. The seven-year-old gelding was soon pushed along to lead. He held a length and a half advantage over Fever Pitch at the final fence and was driven out to score by a length and three parts.

The winner returned the 3/1 favourite having been nibbled at 4/1 this morning. Fever Pitch was 11/2 from an opening show of 13/2. My Murphy beaten eight and three quarter lengths into third, was 9/2 from a morning price of 7/1.

Andrew Lynch said: "He was just a bit fresh the last day and he can be keen.

“He jumped super and he's a good horse. We wanted to get him settled and get him jumping.

“He'll probably improve a bit fitness-wise as it was just his second run of the season and his first back over fences.

“I was always happy with him. He ploughs through that ground. Not many like it but he does.”

Tis race was worth 30,000 euro, with a winning share of 19,500 euro.
