Fines at Leopardstown

Three trainers were fined for withdrawing their horse after the declaration stage at Leopardstown today.

The horses were all taken out because of the changing ground conditions as the track dried out all day.

Arthur Moore was fined 200 euro for withdrawing Lastoftheleaders from the fifth race – the two mile handicap hurdle won by Cass Bligh The stewards noted that this was Moore’s first offence.

In the feature Paddy Power Chase, Gordon Elliott and Peter Casey withdrew Tharawaat and Jack The Bus respectively. They were both fined 1,900 euro. It was a heavy fine due to the significant prize money in the race (190,000 euro).

In addition, the first reserve in the feature race, the Robert Tyner-trained By The Hour, was declared and present at the track and wanted to run but was unable to due to the late withdrawals.
