Mick Fitzgerald will be part of the new ITV racing team, the former jockey's agent confirmed to Press Association Sport.
The Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning rider quit the saddle in 2008 due to an neck injury and has since been a regular face on At The Races and Channel 4 Racing.
Fitzgerald's agent Jon Holmes said: "At this stage all I can say is Mick will be working for ITV."
The 46-year-old rode over 1,300 winners during a stellar career in which he is best known for his long association with Nicky Henderson.
He won the Gold Cup on Paul Nicholls' See More Business in 1999, three years after his National success aboard the Terry Casey-trained Rough Quest.
Former Sky Sports presenter Ed Chamberlin will be the new host when ITV's racing contract begins on January 1.
He will be assisted by Francesca Cumani, daughter of Newmarket trainer Luca, during the Flat season.
Hayley Turner, Oli Bell, Sally Ann Grassick and Rishi Persad are other names in the frame when the new era of televised racing begins next year.
