Dandys Gold ran out a well-backed winner of the BetVictor Horse Racing Multiples Cash Out Handicap at Dundalk, to supplement her course gains from last time.

Owned and bred by George Halford, Dandys Gold won over six furlongs here on January 18th, and this time over seven again under David Simmonson, the daughter of Dandy Man was supported down from 13/2 into 9/2 co favourite of three.

Never far away, Dandys Gold eventually edged War Hero by half a length prompting successful handler Billy Fitzpatrick to say: “She’s going up the ladder in the handicap but is after developing further this year. She likes Dundalk and I like it too! There are a few more races coming up so hopefully we’ll be back for more glory.

“I’m based between the Curragh and Rathangan, and have five in training along with a few mares and foals.”

The Stewards interviewed D.P. Davis, rider of Pacolita in the presence of Mr. Anthony McCann, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. Davis was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to ride a straight line from his draw position until the marker poles were reached. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.P. Davis.
