Volvalien provided Alan Fleming and Barry Connell with a double on the card (earlier successful with Boris De Blae as he made all to win the Kerry Group Flat Race.

The six-year-old son of Network was second at Bellewstown on his most recent outing when making his return to action after a long layoff.

Sent off the 6/4 favourite today he was sent straight to the front by Steven Clements.

He extended his advantage with five furlongs to race and he kept on well in the straight to score easily by nineteenth lengths. Heath King (20/1) finished second under Finian Maguire for Denis Leahy while Undefined Beauty (14/1) was twenty-five lengths back in third under Johnny Barry for Edward Stanners.

Alan Fleming said afterwards: "We left the hood off today as he was too sleepy at Bellewstown but he's a really, really nice horse and we've always loved him.

"If he stays right he has a big future, more so over fences but the plan for now is a maiden hurdle next."
