Ger Fox was the second jockey on the day at Fairyhouse today to capitalise on an earlier injury to Paul Carberry when stepping in for the ride on Couleur France (7/2jf), winner of the Irish Racing Yearbook Rated Novice Hurdle for Fox's employer Noel Meade.

Carberry had been stood down with lower back pain following a first race fall from Busty Brown and had earlier missed riding Mister Hotelier to win an earlier chase.

Fox took full advantage himself on Couleur France who recorded an eight lengths win over Mr Diablo

Afterwards Meade stated “Noel Meade “He jumped a bit better and was suited by the more galloping track. He was probably beaten by a good horse (Drumacoo) at Thurles last time. “
