The Carragher's XL Castleblayney Race is the pick of the action at Dundalk, and sees Producer have his first run for Dermot Weld since switching from Richard Hannon's yard for 250,000 guineas.

His task is no easy one, though, with Captain Joy and Grey Danube coming into the race on the back of recent successes at this track.

Weld has a number of runners on the card, starting with Magic Kitten and Petit Adagio in the BWG Foods Maiden, and Pat Smullen has opted to ride the latter.

Tommy Stack's Unchanged and Mick Halford's Maira are likely to be major threats, though.

Weld also runs two in the www.valuecentre.ie Race, though whether Smullen's mount Behesht or Vedelago are able to live with Jim Bolger's Parish Hall, who won a Group Three at the Curragh last term, remains to be seen.

There could be some friendly rivalry in the O'Brien household ahead of the XL Handicap.

Aidan saddles two runners in the race, with son Donnacha aboard top weight Song Of Love, while daughter Ana gets the leg up on Absorbing.

The likes of Paul Deegan's Rest Assured and Daniel O'Sullivan's Happy Hen will be out to ensure it's not all a family affair.

Donnacha and Ana both get rides for James Nash in the opening race at 5.35, the Your Local Value Centre Handicap.

Ana has been the regular rider for the veteran Tsar Paul and keeps the mount, while her brother is aboard Shinyhappyjohn for the Curragh handler.

Both will have to step up on recent efforts, though, especially with recent winner Acroleina and Johnny Murtagh's Shushu Sugartown in opposition.

Tom Dooley bids to follow up a recent success in the first division of the Coast Tavern Laytown Handicap, while the second division pits recent scorer Forbidden City against the consistent Coach Bombay.
