Frisco sees it out best

Frisco Depot saw out the two mile three furlong trip better than Shot From The Hip and Cottrelsbooley in the Kingsfurze Maiden Hurdle to land a bit of a gamble for owner Gerry Burke, trainer Dessie Hughes and rider Paddy Flood at Naas.

The very-easy-to-back Cottrelsbooley ran a cracker from the front, jumping well in a clear lead but he was closed down in the straight and on his first start for 245 days he had to give best from the last to the victorious son of King's Theatre (6/1 this morning into 11/4).

Hughes said: "That was a good race I'd say and I'm delighted with him as he showed a lot of guts. The only hurdle he missed was the last where he landed flat-footed.

"He doesn't seem to mind that ground and he had run well at Galway over two miles first time back. He should be a nice novice hurdler over a trip and we'll look for something over two and a half miles for him now."

Dual bumper winner Shot From The Hip ran satisfactorily to finish runner-up whilst Frisco Depot's full-brother Forty Foot Tom contests race three at 2.15.
