Full Shilling outgunned the field to land the Ballykisteen Handicap at Tipperary for Ann Mooney and gave her a first success in the training ranks.

Niall McCullagh rode him into a narrow lead as the race unfolded approaching the furlong pole.

The pair were pursued by Gopsies Daughter and Wayne Lordan who began to wind up their challenge.

However, Full Shilling wasn't for passing and she stuck to her task strongly to open up by two and a quarter lengths at 12/1.

Runner-up Gopsies Daughter went off the 3/1 favourite while Night Law (20/1) and Miss Opportunity (8/1) chased them home in third and fourth respectively.

Ann Mooney, wife of jump jockey Martin Mooney, said: "It was a long year last year when she wasn't just firing for us but the lads have kept the faith and we got it right this time thank God.

“We'll see how she comes out of this and go from there. She'd rather have the turf and Dundalk wouldn't be her ideal track.”
