Parsnip Pete will aim to add to his Aintree success at the Punchestown Festival.

Tom George's handicapper won the Grade Three Red Rum Chase on Merseyside and has come out of the race in such good form that his trainer is keen to strike while the iron is hot.

He will form part of a strong Punchestown team for the Gloucestershire handler, who will be represented in the Grade One Boylesports.com Champion Chase by Module.

"Parsnip Pete is a strong possible for Punchestown," said George.

"He went up 7lb for his Aintree win, which was fair.

"God's Own will also be going over. He was only beaten a length and a quarter by Balder Succes in the Pendil at Kempton.

"The thing with him is he has to go right-handed, so that is why he didn't go to Cheltenham or Aintree. I don't want him to lose his novice status in an ordinary race so we may as well try to win something nice with him.

"Ballinvarrig is another we'll be sending. He won two nice races at Ascot and Exeter, and was then second to Present View at Kempton which didn't suit him at all as he's a big horse.

"We were giving Present View weight so it was nice to see what he went on to do at Cheltenham."
