Henry de Bromhead's Arcenfete (6/1) led home a Gigginstown one-two in the J.F. Hanley Beginners Chase over an extended two miles at Roscommon.

He got the better of long-time leader Yaha Fizz but then on the run-in had to fend off a staying-on Crezic who closed to within a neck at the line.

Sean Flanagan came in for the ride aboard the winner (as Dylan Robinson was injured) with the runner-up Crezic, partnered by Denis O'Regan who replaced the hospitalised Davy Russell, a 10/3 shot.

Yaha Fizz, the 11/8 favourite, could make no impression on the leaders in third, some three and three quarter lengths further back.

Assistant trainer Davy Roche said: "He won well and it was grand but he was disappointing over hurdles. He is better for a fence and sure we got one and hopefully he could improve a bit.

"He disappointed massively over hurdles; we thought he was alright early on but it just never happened and maybe it was the really deep ground and, like most of ours, he wants better ground.

"He's a massive horse and his jumping will improve and hopefully we can step on now."
