Two of jumps racing's characters combined for a win at Listowel today, with popular veteran chaser Gonebeyondrecall (14/1) rolling back the years to win the Join The Listowel Races Supporters Club Hunters Chase for his own colourful trainer Noel Glynn.

Ridden by Declan Queally, the 11 year old made all and gamely stuck to his task to see off Fort George by six lengths.

Glynn later explained “he (Gonebeyondrecall) ran in Kinsale on Saturday and we were going to go eventing with him next week! We'll have to change the plan now!

“His last win was here four years ago and he won the Land Rover Bumper seven years ago.”

Glynn added “I just told (trainer) Enda Bolger by phone that I'll have to go with him to the Pardubicka (Chase, in Czech Republic) next year! Tara, my daughter always said that the Pardubicka would suit him down the ground because he could 'hunt away' in it.”
