Watering has commenced at Fairyhouse ahead of the three-day Easter Festival meeting.

Officials have decided to turn on the taps with the prospect of little or no rain and temperatures reaching up to 20C over the next few days. The going is currently good to yielding, yielding in places.

Racing gets underway on Sunday at Fairyhouse with two Grade One events, the Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase and the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Mares) Novice Hurdle.

The highlight is on Easter Monday with half a million euro in prizemoney on offer for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National.

Cork also hosts a three-day Easter Festival beginning tomorrow, and the going on the Flat course is currently described as good to yielding (good in places).

National Hunt racing takes centrestage the following two days at the southern venue, and the going is good (good to yielding in places) on the chase course, while the hurdle course is good to yielding (yielding in places).

Watering will take place on the NH tracks if required.
