After going down narrowly at Leopardstown on Thursday, Firecrown will bid to recoup losses in the BBQ Evening Wednesday August 12th Handicap at Gowran on Tuesday evening.

The John Oxx-trained filly was backed into 11-4 favouritism at the Foxrock venue and she was only caught close home there, going down by a length.

She pulled nine lengths clear of the third horse and dropped back to seven furlongs now, she looks the one to side with.

The most valuable contest on the card is Gowran Festival Of Speed July 11th & 12th Handicap and five have been declared for this seven-furlong contest. Beau Satchel was a good third to Hasanour at the Curragh on Saturday and he is sure to prove popular with punters. Strait Of Zanzibar has been placed on his last three starts and another good effort looks likely from him.

Mick Halford 's Rummaging is tried in cheekpieces for the first time and he has to contend with top-weight while Texas Rock and Splashtop complete the line-up. Best Kept Secret got off the mark at Ballinrobe last week and he will bid to follow-up in the Gowran Park Golf Club Handicap.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained gelding is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time here and he has most to fear from Beechmount Whisper Lucie Rie Danse Rouge and Torthai An Ghra Vocal Heir Knights Templar and Rockview Emperor look the three to focus on in the Hens & Stags Silver Package From €19 Apprentice Handicap while Boom Box Mutadhamen and U S Navy Seal are the stand-out names in the Go Racing In The South East Maiden. True Solitaire is an interesting debutant in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

The Dermot Weld trained son of Oasis Dream is a half-brother to Group 3 winning stable mate Carla Bianca while another half-sister, Joailliere, won on her debut over the course in April.

Weld is represented by Sidara in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and she looks to have strong claims having finished fourth on her first two starts. Jolyne has two solid efforts to her name and she is an obvious danger while Terracotta and Dutch Party look the best of the rest.
