The board of Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) will meet this morning in light of the Government's decision to cancel all sports including 'behind closed doors' horse racing from midnight last night.

The Government's latest series of restrictions of movement of the population in a bid to contain the Coronavirus will be in place until Sunday 19th April.

This includes the Irish Grand National Festival over Easter at Fairyhouse which has been cancelled.

HRI is expected to issue a statement this afternoon outlining contingency plans for the industry.
