Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power completed a double at Roscommon, as Sandymount Duke made all to take the Ladies Day At Roscommon On July 4th Beginners Chase.

A disappointing second when sent off at 4/11 on his debut over fences at Killarney last month, the seven-year-old son of Hernando made amends for that defeat this evening.

He put in an exhibition of jumping from the front, and he kept on well when given reminders from two out, going on to score easily by seven and a half lengths at the odds of 4/9 (was 10/11 last night). Hard To Call (7/2) kept on to take second under Barry Geraghty for Gordon Elliott, while Full Cry was three and three parts of a length back in third.

Robbie Power, who won aboard Gambling Girl for Jessica Harrington earlier, said afterwards: "I didn't want to get him a fall the first day over fences and could be much more positive today and he jumped super.

"When you want him (to jump), he's there and if you let him be careful he is, and the further he goes the better he'll be."

The winner is of course owned by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones fame.
