Heffernan's hot hurdle run continues

Irish Derby winning jockey Seamie Heffernan 's decision to return to riding over hurdles paid dividends again at Limerick today, winning the opening John Mulholland Bookmaker Maiden Hurdle on Tom Taaffe's Inagh Valley

Heffernan's only other hurdle ride this season was on Sanglote, a winner at Limerick on Saturday, and he took full advantage of Uncle Tom Cobley s fall (when narrolwy leading) at the second last flight on Inagh Valley, before running out a nine lengths winner.

Afterwards Taaffe reported "Inagh Valley is out of a mare (Miss Ondee) who won seven races but is still only a baby and may be better on better ground."

He added "we may give him a break now until the spring when he may run in a winners' hurdle."
