Siblings Moskovite and Moyhenna are on course for valuable handicap appearances at Christmas as trainer Denis Hogan outlined plans for the pair of Robert Hennelly owned/bred mares.

Moskovite, by Flemensfirth, has won four of her 15 starts, and Hogan reports “Moskovite has been disappointing and didn’t really go forward from her beginners’ chase win in Sligo and her jumping was deplorable early on in Fairyhouse the last day.

“There is a chance that we might run her back over hurdles at Navan this weekend (Tara Handicap Hurdle) to get her confidence back.

“It’s a good pot worth 50,000 so that’s an option and another is a mares’ handicap hurdle at Limerick over Christmas. Mentally she is a bit tricky but we’ll work around her.

Moyhenna, by Westerner, similarly has won four of her 16 career starts and the trainer added “Moyhenna had her comeback run at Navan in a very competitive three-mile handicap hurdle. She ran okay and just got tired. That should leave her right for Christmas.

“She’s in the Paddy Power but I’d say we’ll go to Limerick for the Tim Duggan. We can see after that about something like the Thyestes.”
