Honeysuckle looked a smart addition to Henry de Bromhead's team when running out an impressive winner of the mares maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse.
The Sulamani mare had won her sole point-to-point start at Dromahane in April before being bought for €110,000 by Kenneth Alexander.
She was a strongly supported 9/10 favourite for her 'track' debut in the two-and-a-half mile contest today.
Rachael Blackmore had her mount to the fore throughout, upsides Moskovite and she kicked on turning for home.
Honeysuckle soon powered clear, going on to record a convincing 12-length success.
De Bromhead said:- “She’s a lovely filly and had worked well at home but I hadn’t got her away before today. Anything we saw at home we liked, and it’s lovely to see it now on the track.
“She jumped really well and was very professional. Mark O’Hare recommended her (after winning a Dromahane point-to-point), and it’s our first runner for (owner) Kenny Alexander.
“There is a great programme for mares and we’ll work our way along and see how we get on. We’ll probably stick to two and a half miles but I’d say she has the pace for two as well.”
Blackmore and de Bromhead had also teamed up to take the opener with Ellie Mac
