Roachdale House recorded his first success in over three years when striking again at Sligo this afternoon.

Paul Flynn 's charge had won over timber at the north-west venue back in July 2017 and was returning to the winners enclosure for the first time since in the novice handicap chase today.

Keith Donoghue produced the 9/1 shot to challenge turning for home in the two-mile-two contest and he jumped the last with a narrow lead.

The Mastercraftsman gelding stuck on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half success over Jack Hackett

The stewards had a look after long-time leader Jack Holiday got tight for room on the run-in but the result was unchanged.

Donoghue said afterwards:- “He was good. When he’s on a going day he has plenty of ability.

“I got lit up a little bit after the second last and I probably got there a little bit too soon. He was just idling in front but I was always holding him (runner-up Jack Hackett).”
