Hydrangea is one of seven possible runners in the Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Aidan O’Brien’s two-time Group One winner has not been seen since she won the Qipco British Champions Fillies And Mares Stakes in October, but she remains in contention for the one-mile Group Two, in which stablemate Clear Skies could also run.

Unbeaten filly Goldrush is well liked by Jim Bolger and has also been entered, as have Making Light, Nivvo, Opal Tiara and Xenobia.

Australian import Merchant Navy could make his debut for O’Brien in the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes.

Stablemates Intelligence Cross, Spirit Of Valor, Washington DC are also in the hunt for Group Two honours.

Last year’s winner Gordon Lord Byron could bid for the double, while there remains a strong British representation through Donjuan Triumphant, Brando, Ekhtiyaar, Perfect Pasture and Tasleet.

The Group Three Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes on Sunday has attracted 18 possibles.

O’Brien can choose from a septet that includes Flag Of Honour and Hunting Horn.

The Ballydoyle handler’s son, Joseph O’Brien, has entered six horses, with Ming and Dynabee successful in maidens at Dundalk and Cork respectively.
