Connections of Imaging are waiting on the rain before bringing the high-class colt back to competitive action.

Dermot Weld’s three-year-old has won three of his five starts to date, including an impressive display in the Listed Tetrarch Stakes at Naas in early May.

The son of Oasis Dream, who has not been seen on a racecourse since then, had previously chased home St James’s Palace Stakes runner-up Gustav Klimt in a 2,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for Imaging’s owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah, said: “He prefers softer ground and all the ground at the moment is rock-hard, so we will give him a little bit more time off.

“You would like to end up in those nice seven-furlong and mile races at the end of the year.

“He has still got to come through and prove himself at that level but his form is nice.”
