Intisaab came home with a wet sail to land the Tote Scurry Handicap, under Danny Tudhope for David O'Meara and owner Stuart Graham.

The battle-hardened seven-year-old gelding was last successful at Haydock in May, finishing third of four on his most recent start.

Sent off at 8/1 this afternoon, the bay victor was settled towards rear, and was pushed along on the inner from over a furlong out.

He was switched right inside the final furlong, and powered home from there, going on to score by three parts of a length, from joint top-weight Ardhoomey (12/1) in the second.

The 3/1 favourite Gunmetal (from 9/2) was another length and a quarter back in third, while 33/1 outsider Blairmayne was fourth.

O'Meara said afterwards: "That was great. He's a very good horse. He won in Qatar this year, a very valuable race out there, and won a conditions race at Haydock so he's borderline better than handicap company at his best.

"He seems to like big fields, and quick conditions to really show his best. That suited him down to the ground and the further he went in the race the better he was looking.

"He needs a good fast pace and plenty of horses to aim at. He was drawn this side so Danny was keen to go right hand down a bit and get behind a few.

"He could possibly come back here for Champions Weekend. He was second in the 'Bold Lad' here two years ago to David Barron's New Bidder."

Tudhope added: "The race panned over perfect really. He needs a lot of cover this horse.

"I wanted them to go quick and they did that. They went very quick and I was able to just let him find his feet.

"He came home nice in the end and he is a very talented horse, he has won some good races. It’s nice to come over here and bag a pot like this."
