Jaunty Thor has proved a real bargain buy for connections and made it four wins in the space of just six weeks when taking the Littleton Handicap Chase over two and a quarter miles at Thurles.

The eight-year-old Norse Dancer gelding was snapped up for just 5,000 pounds at Doncaster in May and after setting the ball rolling with a hurdle win in Perth at the end of September, has now added a further three wins over fences.

The 5/2 favourite was carrying a mandatory 6lb penalty for a victory over 2m5f at Fairyhouse on Tuesday, and was sent to the front approaching the last by Davy Russell.

Gordon Elliott ’s charge kept on well under pressure on the run-in to hold Fairymount Boy by half a length, with Conduct Yourself another length and a quarter away in third.

Elliott said, "The trip wasn't ideal and he was flat out early but the further he went he better he got.

"He has been a great servant and it was nice for the lads (Call It What You Like Syndicate). He's in at Ayr next week so it wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world if he goes there. He doesn't want really soft ground."
