Joules in One For Hanlon at Clonmel

John 'Shark' Hanlon saddled his first winner since the middle of August when One For Joules got off the mark at the first time of asking over hurdles in the Kilmore 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.

This daughter of Choisir, owned by Hanlon's partner Rachel O'Neill, got a good ride from Johnny Cullen, securing a run up the inner in the straight, a brave leap at the last settling the issue in favour of the 8/1 chance who beat Lil Ella by four and a half lengths.

Hanlon said: "I thought it was never going to happen (another winner). She should have won in Fairyhouse the last day but she got trouble in running. I'd say we have had about 30 places in the last 6 weeks and I hope that'll turn our luck now.

"This mare will go back and try and win on the flat again (won at Wexford in July) before she resumes over hurdles."
