Joy for Collins house as Captain scores

Captain Joy came with a strong late run to grab the spoils in the opening juvenile maiden at Dundalk tonight.

Michael Hussey had to wait for a run aboard the Dark Angel colt but he sprouted wings when getting clear inside the final furlong. Harry Trotter looked to have done enough but was nailed on the line by the Tracey Collins-trained runner.

"We've always thought a bit of him and he got into a bit of trouble here the last day," said Collins, who trains the winner for her mother Barbara.

"He was green there among horses but Michael gave him a serious drive. He's very talented and should get more opportunities. He really made his mind up.

"We're thrilled and the owner will be very pleased. I'll get my turkey on Sunday now!"
