Kastasa got going late to land the spoils in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Clonmel.

The Dermot Weld-trained filly was making her reappearance this afternoon having been fourth on her sole previous outing at Thurles last October.

Ben Coen settled the Aga Khan-owned filly in behind the leaders before asking her to give chase turning for home in the extended nine-furlong contest.

It took the Rock Of Gibraltar filly a while to find her feet but she got motoring inside the final furlong to lead close home and beat Very Excellent by half a length.

The winning rider said:- "She was on and off the bridle the whole way and was green coming down the hill but when she hit the rising ground a furlong out she really got into it.

"She will get further and hopefully she stays improving. That's my first winner for the Aga Khan."
