Ask Katie lunged late to land the spoils in the Michael Daffy Car Sales Handicap at Listowel under a determined ride from Conor Hoban.

The George Webb-trained filly was niggled along in last in the early stages of the mile contest but got going where it mattered.

The 14/1 shot was driven along to take closer order on the outer with a furlong and a half to run and ran on well inside the final furlong to get to the front close home.

She got the better of Miss Ballygally by a length-and-a-half with a further two-and-a-quarter lengths back to Prince Jock

"It wasn't the plan to be so far back but they were going quick in front. I got a lovely tow into the race from Miss Ballygally and she stayed on well,” reported Hoban afterwards.

11/4 favourite Stamp Of Authority a winner at the track on Tuesday, failed to pick up in the straight and could only finish sixth.
