Killdunne proved another one for the bookies at Navan today as he ran out an easy winner of the Emerald Facility Servives Beginners Chase at odds of 40/1.

The Jim Gorman-trained gelding came into the race having finished third on the Flat at Killarney last month.

The son of Hawk Wing had been tried in all codes and won a point-to-point back in April 2013.

Jody McGarvey had him prominent throughout in the two-and-a-half mile contest and he hit the front three from home.

He asserted before the penultimate fence and was sent clear going to the last. McGarvey could afford to ease down on the run-in for a nine-length success over Chitu 7/4 favourite Phil's Magic was back in sixth.

McGarvey said afterwards:- "He'd a nice run on the Flat the last day. He jumped like a buck, and I was able to get a few breathers into him.

"The ground is loose and they are getting through it. It will catch out summer horses but he got through it well."
