King Christophe thundered down the outside to swamp his rivals in the extended mile and a quarter handicap at Dundalk.

Shane Kelly was on board for trainer Nicole McKenna and from stall 12 had to race towards the rear.

King Christophe came wide down the straight and was ridden a furlong and a half out to try and close on the principals.

He began to really motor in the final furlong but got involved in a bumping match with Manorov on his inside.

Despite this, he was able to hit full stride and mowed down the leaders close home to win by three parts of a length at 16/1.

There was a bunch finish for the placings with 6/4 favourite Ligeti (who was seeking a hat-trick) taking second by a head from Tenerezza (7/1).

Trainer Nicole McKenna was leading the horse up.
