Tom Marquand enjoyed a landmark success at Chepstow on Friday as Sir Plato provided him with a 500th career winner in Britain.
Marquand, who has a first ride in the Investec Derby this weekend on Andrew Balding's Khalifa Sat, has been in red-hot form since the resumption of racing.
Sir Plato (evens favourite) won the Elite Racing Club 394 Wins Handicap by a length for trainer Rod Millman, backing up an easy success from just over a week ago.
"I'm really fortunate to have had the level of support I've had for the last five and a bit years since I started riding," Marquand told Sky Sports Racing.
"That (500 winners) is pretty nuts as folk keep reminding me when I was riding out my claim. People laugh at me because I feel like I’ve been around for a long time, but it hasn’t been really. Long may this run continue."
Crowned champion apprentice in 2015, Marquand has enjoyed a fine 2020 to date, winning two Group Ones with Addeybb in Australia and landing his first ever Royal Ascot winner through Who Dares Wins.
